Art, Wine and Food in the Valley

The Blackstone River is one of 14 American Heritage Rivers, the powerful Blackstone flows between Worcester, Massachusetts and Providence Rhode Island. The John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor tells the story of the river's role in starting New England's textile industry and the American Industrial Revolution.

10:00 am Coffee with a Taste of Valley History

Your day begins with coffee and muffins at the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center then view the award-winning film "Hidden in the Blackstone Valley" which describes the Valley's history.
11:30 am Historic Cooking in Providence

1:00 pm Fine Italian Cuisine

The Culinary Archives & Museum at Johnson & Wales University is the premier devoted to the preservation of the history of the Culinary and hospitality industries. At this museum you will witness the evolution of the lemon juicer, the cultural consequences of the colonial tavern and the golden age of the art-deco diner all in one place.

2:30 pm St. Ann's Arts and Cultural Center

St. Ann's parish, once the focal point of the French Canadian heritage of Woonsocket, houses magnificent paintings by Professor Guido Nicheri painted in the Fresco style of Michaelangelo & Rafael. The extent and beauty of the artwork are unparalled in New England and possibly the United States.

3:30 pm Wine Tasting at Diamond Hill Vineyard

Savor a sip of Blackstone Blush or River Valley White at this family run vineyard in northeastern Rhode Island in a beautiful garden setting. Established in 1976, Diamond Hill makes a wide range of grape and fruit wines.
