The Blackstone River is the centerpiece
of the 400,000 acre Blackstone River Valley. One of 14
American Heritage Rivers, the powerful Blackstone flows
between Worcester, Massachusetts and Providence Rhode
Island. As a special kind of place called a national
heritage corridor, it tells the story of the river's role in
starting New England's textile industry and the American
Industrial Revolution. |

Today's adventure begins at the Chepachet
Farm where you will enjoy a scrumptious pancake breakfast
and horse-drawn wagon ride. Learn first hand about maple
sugaring during your tour of the farm's Sugar House, where
more than 500 gallons of syrup are boiled and prepared for
bottling every year. |

will bring back memories of a simplier time. Browse the two
floors and discover wonderful gifts for yourself, friends

Wright's Farm Restaurant |

At Wright's Farm Restaurant you will have
the "Chicken Family Style". This Valley tradition started in
the 1930's among the Italian immigrants. It's a hearty meal
that is served only in the Valley.

Spring Lake Arcade |
|
Explore the world's oldest Penny Arcade
that is located on Spring Lake Beach in Burrillville. It is
the longest operating "penny" arcade in existence. Here you
will try your hand at the vintage penny arcade games and you
can also relax and enjoy the view of the lake. |

Attracting and Feeding Birds |

Capping off your day is a visit to the
Audubon Society of Rhode Island where you will learn how to
attract more birds to your backyard. The society's Powder
Mill Ledges refuge is a treasure with many fascinating
exhibits to examine, as well as trails leading through
protected habitat. |
