Blackstone River Valley - A River Story
|
The Blackstone River is the centerpiece
of the 400,000 acre Blackstone River Valley. One of 14
American Heritage Rivers, the powerful Blackstone flows
between Worcester, Massachusetts and Providence Rhode
Island. As a special kind of place called a national
heritage corridor, it tells the story of the river's
role in starting New England's textile industry and the
American Industrial Revolution.

Morning Coffee and Migrating Birds |
|
As you enjoy a cup of fresh-brewed coffee
on our relaxing riverboat cruise, listen to the songs of
migrating warblers and finches while learning about the
history of the river. Once severely polluted by the dyes and
other chemicals from textiles mills, the river has made an
amazing come back where several species have made their home
on the bank of the Blackstone and is part of the East Coast
Flyway for many migrating birds in spring and fall. |
