The Blackstone River, one of 14
American Heritage Rivers, flows between Worcester,
Massachusetts and Providence Rhode Island. The John H.
Chafee Blackstone River Valley tells the story of the
river's role in starting New England's textile industry
and the American Industrial Revolution.

Enjoy pastry and coffee with a Riverboat
cruise of the Valley Falls Wilderness Area aboard the
Blackstone Valley Explorer. Considered Rhode Island's
largest freshwater marsh, this urban preserve is habitat to
a variety of wildlife. |

Mill Historic Site

At Slater Mill Museum you will explore
three authentic historical buildings and garden. Slater Mill
interpreters dressed as men and women of the 19th century -
all eager to share their knowledge of the period and the
impact the Industrial Revolution had on America. |

to Enjoy Some Old-Fashioned Baseball |

Baseball is still the real McCoy at McCoy
Stadium, home of the Pawtucket Red Sox. Recent renovations
have not stolen any of the charm, affordability or tradition
of Triple-A baseball's oldest stadium. |

After the game, savor a Blackstone Valley
tradition, "Chicken Family Style", at one of our many fine
restaurants. A hearty meal that is served only in the
Blackstone Valley, this dining experience started in the
1930's among the Italian immigrants playing Bocco on Sunday
afternoons. |
