Holiday Shopping in the Blackstone Valley

The Blackstone River, one of 14 American Heritage Rivers, flows between Worcester, Massachusetts and Providence Rhode Island. The John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor tells the story of the river's role in starting New England's textile industry and the American Industrial Revolution.

10:00 am Not Your Run-of-the-Mill Museum Shoppe

Enjoy a fresh cup of Starbucks coffee at the Slater Mill Museum Store and Cafe. Located in the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center, this delightful little shop features jewelry, glass, paper, fine art and textile items made by local artists and other unique gift items.

11:00 am Rhode Island Antique Mall

Specializing in Art Decor and modern design from 1950's, browse two floors for high-quality antiques.

12:30 pm Chicken Family Style at Wright's Farm

A tradition that started in the 1930s on Sunday afternoons when Valley Italian immigrants played bocce, you'll enjoy Italian roast chicken, salad, pasta and a potato dish.

After your meal, visit the gift shop and browse a diverse selection of merchandise for all occasions including candles, candle accessories, seasonal gifts, home decor, personal care products, jewelry, greeting cards, collectables and more.

2:30 pm Museum of Work and Culture Gift Store

If you are seeking locally made textiles and crafts, this is the shop for you. This gift shop features local factory-made woolen blankets, books on immigration and labor history. You may also wish to visit the nearby art gallery and flower shop.

4:00 pm Wright's Dairy's Farm

Shop the Country Store at this 100-year old working dairy farm. Here you will find fresh milk and homemade fudge for your holiday table.

Tour Operator Price: $32.00 (includes food voucher)

The price is based on a minimum of 40 people.
