A Blackstone Valley Holiday
The Blackstone River, one of 14 American
Heritage Rivers, flows between Worcester, Massachusetts and
Providence Rhode Island. The John H. Chafee Blackstone River
Valley National Heritage Corridor tells the story of the
river's role in starting New England's textile industry and
the American Industrial Revolution.
On this family Holiday tour of the valley,
enjoy a 90-minute train trip on The Polar Express and do
some Holiday shopping! Offered the first three weekends in

Center, this delightful little shop features jewelry, glass,
paper, fine art and textile items made by local artists and
other unique gift items.

Train for The Polar Express |

Inspired by the award winning book by Chris
Van Allsburg, experience the magic of The Polar Express in
the Blackstone River Valley. This 90-minute train ride
departs from the Ann & Hope in Cumberland, RI to the North
Pole and includes hot chocolate & cookies a visit from
Santa, sing-a-long and a special Christmas remembrance.

A tradition that started in the 1930s on
Sunday afternoons when Valley Italian immigrants played
bocce, you'll enjoy Italian roast chicken, salad, pasta and
a potato dish.
After your meal, visit the gift shop and
browse a diverse selection of merchandise for all occasions
including candles, candle accessories, seasonal gifts, home
decor, personal care products, jewelry, greeting cards,
collectables and more. |

Vaillancourt Folk Art Behind the Scenes Studio Tour |

This studio of folk artisans is one of
three US producers of chalk ware which are created from a
collection of over 3,000 vintage German chocolate and
ice-cream molds. The best-known creators of Father Christmas
figures, Vaillancourt artists individually hand-paint
ornaments and figurines in a studio located in a restored
1820s farmhouse in scenic Sutton, Massachusetts. Sixteen
artists work for three weeks on each figurine, which are
all, signed, dated and numbered.
